The CDX 10/40-G/D is size 10 of the Italvibras flameproof series in 6 poles. At 1’000 rpm it delivers 0,33 kN on 50 Hz, with a high-strength aluminium alloy frame and an extra-thick terminal box cover sized to contain an internal explosion.

The CDX 10/40-G/D is built around a three-phase asynchronous motor whose protection does not seek to prevent the internal explosion but to contain it. That is the principle of the « db » method, and it requires the enclosure and its joints to remain intact. Protection IP66, IK08, insulation class F (155 °C), permitted ambient from −20 °C to +40 °C, continuous duty S1.
Its centrifugal force adjusts steplessly from 0 to 100 % through the eccentric weights, with the patented ARS system preventing setting errors. Thermal protection 130 °C is fitted as standard, as on every type G/D CDX, and connecting it is an integral part of the conditions of use in a classified zone.
