The CDX 15/400-G/D is size 20 of the Italvibras flameproof series in 4 poles. At 1’500 rpm it delivers 4,04 kN on 50 Hz, with a high-strength aluminium alloy frame and an extra-thick terminal box cover sized to contain an internal explosion.

The CDX 15/400-G/D houses a three-phase asynchronous motor housed in a flameproof enclosure of type « db ». Gases from an internal explosion can only escape through flameproof joints whose geometry cools them before they reach the outside. Protection IP66, IK08, insulation class F (155 °C), permitted ambient from −20 °C to +40 °C.
PWM inverter control is available from 20 Hz up to operating frequency, at constant torque. Since centrifugal force varies as the square of speed, any change of frequency means recalculating it. Thermal protection 130 °C is fitted as standard.
