The CDX 3/2100-G/D is size 50 of the Italvibras flameproof series in 2 poles. At 3’000 rpm it delivers 20,7 kN on 50 Hz, with a spheroidal graphite cast iron frame and an extra-thick terminal box cover sized to contain an internal explosion.

The CDX 3/2100-G/D is built around a three-phase asynchronous motor whose protection does not seek to prevent the internal explosion but to contain it. That is the principle of the « db » method, and it requires the enclosure and its joints to remain intact. Protection IP66, IK08, insulation class F (155 °C), permitted ambient from −20 °C to +40 °C, continuous duty S1.
The 130 °C thermal protection, fitted as standard on type G/D units, connects to a circuit rated for a maximum of 600 V a.c. and 720 VA, controlled by a pulse switch with manual reset. A PTC thermistor 130 °C is available on specific request.
