GOOD VIBRATION

Electric vibrator motors MVSI — Italvibras

The MVSI range covers the foot-mounted electric vibrator motors by Italvibras. The number of poles sets the speed ; the figure after the « / » gives the centrifugal force (in 1/10 kg) — the higher it is, the more powerful the vibrator.

Family Speed Centrifugal force Why this choice
3/XXX — 2 poles3,000 rpm0,3 à 88 kNFast, low-amplitude vibration : to fluidise fine or powdered materials without compacting them, or to drive a fine screen at high frequency.
15/XXX — 4 poles1,500 rpm0,3 à 82 kNA compromise between speed and amplitude : the default choice when neither the material nor the structure imposes a particular constraint.
10/XXX — 6 poles1,000 rpm0,3 à 219 kNWider and slower vibration : needed to release sticky or coarse materials, with less wear and noise on an installation running continuously.
075/XXX — 8 poles750 rpm2,8 à 177 kNVery wide vibration at low frequency : for large structures (silos, heavy frames) that too fast a vibration would fatigue, or to move very heavy or sticky materials with minimal mechanical wear.

How to choose your MVSI ?

1. What centrifugal force is needed ? It depends on the weight of the structure to be vibrated and on the nature of the material (the heavier, wetter or stickier it is, the higher the force required).

2. What speed suits ? A 2-pole (3,000 rpm) gives a fast, fine vibration ; an 8-pole (750 rpm) gives a wide, slow vibration, better suited to large structures or materials that are hard to release.

3. Does the installation run continuously ? For 24/7 operation, a lower speed (6 or 8 poles) reduces bearing wear and noise.

A few pointers for sizing your installation

How well a vibrator motor performs depends as much on the choice of reference as on its mounting. A few general principles, valid on most installations :

Emptying hoppers and silos : the centrifugal force required is usually between 1/20 and 1/10 of the weight of material held in the conical section. The vibrator is best fixed on the least inclined face, one third of the way up the conical section from the bottom, with the shaft horizontal.

Formwork and vibrating tables : for concrete, allow roughly 1 kg of centrifugal force per kg of concrete to be vibrated (for a semi-fluid mix) — the drier the mix, the higher the force required. On a vibrating table or beam, the vibrator sits vertically above the centre of gravity of the assembly.

One essential point, often overlooked : never vibrate a closed hopper — it compacts the material instead of making it flow, and makes releasing it even harder. Vibration should only be switched on once the outlet is open.

These are only general pointers : every installation remains a particular case. A full sizing guide is in preparation — in the meantime, our technical team can support you on your project.

Electric vibrator motors MVSI : the Italvibras reference for industry

The MVSI electric vibrator motor is an unbalance vibrator: a three-phase induction motor fitted with two adjustable eccentric weights at each end of the motor shaft. As they rotate, these weights generate a centrifugal force that sets in motion any structure the vibrator is fixed to — hopper, silo, conveyor, sieve or vibrating table. The cast iron housing provides IP66 IK08 protection, for reliable continuous operation, including in wet or dusty environments and at extreme temperatures (-20°C to +40°C).

Built by Italvibras, the Italian leader in industrial electric vibrators, MVSI vibrator motors come in four families according to the number of motor poles — 2, 4, 6 or 8 — which sets the speed and therefore the amplitude and frequency of the vibration produced. On every reference, the centrifugal force is adjusted continuously from 0 to 100% by opening or closing the eccentric weights, which allows the vibration intensity to be matched precisely to the application without changing motor.

Typical applications

Emptying and unblocking hoppers and silos, driving vibrating conveyors and troughs, screening bulk materials, releasing sticky or encrusted materials, and compacting powdered or granular products are among the most common uses of the foot-mounted electric vibrator. Its versatility makes it a reference solution in the food industry, construction, chemicals, recycling and heavy industry.
