What AISI 304 stainless steel changes

The MVSS is not a repainted standard vibrator motor. The frame and all external parts are AISI 304 stainless steel, the finish is obtained by hydrophobic burnishing, and the nameplate is AISI 316L. There is therefore no paint that could flake off and contaminate the product, and no recess where water can stand.

That is what makes it suited to installations subject to intensive washdown : food, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetics. Wherever cleaning is as demanding as production itself.

Choosing your polarity

Polarity does not only change the speed, it changes the nature of the vibration. Centrifugal force increases with the square of the speed : with the same weights, a motor running half as fast produces four times less force. To obtain the same force at low speed, a much higher static moment is needed, and therefore a heavier machine.

In practice : a fast motor delivers many low-amplitude impulses, a slow motor few but wide ones. Amplitude moves the material, frequency releases it.

Two sizing pointers used at Audimat : for a hopper, a force of the order of one tenth to one twentieth of the weight of material to be set in motion ; for concrete, roughly one kilogram of force per kilogram of material. And a reminder that saves a lot of disappointment : never vibrate a closed hopper.
