The VR 17500/6-S08 at Audimat

The VR 17500/6-S08 is a mechanical exciter, size 310, with rotational motion. Depending on the weights fitted, it delivers 348 to 386 kN. It is driven by a motor rated at 18,5 kW.

The force is set simply by choosing the additional weights. Audimat is an official Italvibras distributor.

The two weight configurations

ConfigurationPart no.Static momentMax. speedForceWeight of pair

2U — maximum weights060505535175 kgmm1000 rpm386 kN450+450 kg

The working moment is twice the static moment. Fitting more weights increases the moment but lowers the maximum permissible speed.

Applications of the VR 17500/6-S08

An exciter, not a vibrator motor

The difference is fundamental. A conventional vibrator motor contains its own electric motor and is wired directly. A mechanical exciter does not : it is a set of eccentric weights mounted on bearings, driven by an external motor that you select and size yourself. That is why the catalogue quotes a rating in kW rather than a voltage or a current.

This approach makes sense on medium and large machines : separating the vibrating part from the driving part reduces the loads on the motor and extends the service life of the whole assembly. The catalogue also stresses the care taken over noise reduction and over the durability of bearings and gears. The exciter is built around an induction motor driven from outside.

The force is not adjusted by phasing weights as on a vibrator motor, but by choosing the additional weights. The table above gives the two extreme configurations ; several intermediate values are available between them.
